HAIQAL

President AY19/20

“Anyone can be a leader or have the potential to lead, but what distinguishes a good leader from a pool of leaders is the potential to change, nurture and develop his/her people under their care. A good leader should know what are the strength and weaknesses of his/her team while placing differences aside and working together in unison. Any leader who does this to overcome obstacles and challenges in their leadership journey is imperative for success."

Vice-President AY19/20

“Being a leader does not equate to the number of followers you have BUT it equates to the number of leaders you will nurture at the end of your leadership journey”

HASYA

Vice-President AY19/20

“Being a leader does not simply mean to order people or to disseminate information to a large group. It is to understand the impact one can have on someone’s life and anticipate change. As such, develop relationships with people who are different from you, regardless of status or title. Connect with them and identify the strengths in every member. Together with their understanding of your values will you be able to gain their trust to cooperate in achieving a shared goal."

MANILA

Secretary AY19/20

“Being a leader to me means that we have to constantly without fail, make sure that no man is left behind even if it means that we have to sacrifice ourselves for the better of the team.”

GAYNAH

Secretary AY19/20

“Being a leader to me means that I am able to lead and teach something to my juniors. To me it's not about the role or the title,  it's more so about how you as a person can affect someone else's life. Being a leader has its many glories, but one that matters most to me is being able to pass down something to someone that looks up to me. Because to me, it is one of the greatest thing that a leader can give, being able to gift the gift of knowledge and experience, is far more glorifying to me.
Out of all core values that SAS Club holds, 'Nurturing Self and Others' is one I hold deep in my heart.”

TIFFANY

Head Of Logistics AY19/20

“Being a leader means learning how to be humble,  heading towards succession every single step we take. Being a leader means to be selfless and never leave anyone of our responsibility behind. Being a leader means learning how to be open to criticisms and feedbacks. Never be afraid to do or try anything, because YOU will never KNOW unless you TRY”

MICHELLE

Assistant Head Of Logistics AY19/20

“Being a leader means to take up the responsibility to lead and encourage others. A leader would be able to influence decision made, willing to serve and do what needs to be done. A good leader constantly seeks ways to improve themselves. However, a leader may not always please everyone but will always give his/her best to make the right decision."

FATIN

Head Of Publicity AY19/20

“Having the courage to stand for what is right and knowing what's good for the people is what makes a leader, a true leader.
Not only that, but being able to lead the people not from the above but from within is what define someone as a person of great leadership.”

LIM LIE

Assistant Head Of Publicity AY19/20

"To me, a leader is someone who influences others. They motivate others to dream, to aim higher and to venture; and they guide lost ones towards achieving a common goal.
A leader not only lead and command, but they have to be good listeners as well. We have to be open to listen to what others have to say... Be it a compliment or a criticism, it is what helps us grow because only by knowing what went well or what did not, can we then act on bringing about changes.
As leader, we are just like any others. We're humans and we make mistakes. But we learn. And we grow. With every steps we take, we aim to re-create a better future for all and to bring everyone to greater heights as one big family."

EPHRAIM

Peer Support Leader AY19/20

“Being a leader to me is to make decisions, not based on the majority but based on your own judgement and reasoning. Being a leader to me also requires one to face hardship and at the same time be objective, honest, and learn through it. It's an impossible task to satisfy everyone when a decision is made and some decisions may even upset a large group of people you are leading. However, I believe as long as there is good intention and justification when that decision is made, it will always be a good decision. To this day, I do not think I am the best leader, but since I am given this opportunity, I will strive and aim to be the best and improve myself along the way.”
